Recently I have received a number of requests for my ‘official standpoint’ on the issue of the closure of Eleazar Drive where it joins the Warrego highway as a result of the work involved with the Blacksoil interchange. The current refusal of the State Government to fund the communities preferred option even though this was on the table as one of the options during the planning phase, then trying to blame council for not contributing funding, is just not acceptable.

This issue demonstrates why I am running for office at the upcoming State Election. This is a typical example of years of 'consultation' with an outcome that leaves no one happy and everyone with the impression that they have not been listened to. Residents and businesses in that area will be adversely affected and the government is busy 'buck passing' and refusing to take responsibility for an issue they have created. I support and will do all in my power to see the implementation of the extension of Baley Road to Pine Mountain Road. For further questions, on this or other issues you are invited to my ‘Meet and Greet' at the Rosewood CWA Hall on Friday 10-02-2012, from 5.30 to 6.30pm.
