Local Greens candidate for the seat of Nudgee, Anthony Pink, is urging both major parties to move on from the history of this project and advocate for it to be constructed.
‘The railway crossing at Newman and Robinson Road is a bottleneck in the local system, and also quite confusing and dangerous for motorists and rail services alike.’
‘While the history on this project is long, and both sides have played their parts in delaying this key project, it’s obvious to even the most casual of observers that something needs to be done now. I’m actually quite surprised by Ms. Linnard’s position on this, choosing to get caught up in the politics of the situation instead of doing the right thing and supporting the project.’
‘An overpass connecting the Eastern and Western parts of Robertson road will take enormous pressure off the bottleneck between the Industrial estate in Zillmere/Virgina and the residential estates in Geebung. And combined with a good public transportation plan for the district, will ease congestion and decrease the likelihood of accidents.’
‘I know it’s a little unusual for a Greens to back road project and the position of an LNP candidate, but politics should not be about petty squabbles and party lines, good projects should always be supported and that’s what I intend to do.’
