Brisbane PARK(ing) Day 2008

"It’s based on the idea that feeding a parking meter is like “renting” a space. There is no rule that says you have to only park a car, so why not park a park? Every September, people around the world are now transforming ‘car parks’ to ‘people parks’. These PARKs are fun, creative social spaces that become surprising additions to everyday street environments, and become powerful visual symbols of communities wanting to improve urban quality."
