Queensland Greens lead Senate candidate, Adam Stone, will address a rally today and warn the major parties to vote in favour of a Greens marriage equality bill in the House of Representatives on June 6 or face the wrath of voters on September 14.
The Australian Tax Office data released this month shows that 70 Australians with incomes of more than $1 million each in 2010 to 2011 paid no income tax while about 84,000 parents and their children will be forced to live on less than $270 a week.
The Convenor of the Queensland Greens, Andrew Bartlett, has urged the state government to drop its plans to weaken the state’s land-clearing laws.
“Premier Newman explicitly promised prior to the election that he would retain the current level of protection,” Mr Bartlett said.
