About
Stewart Luke has spent most of his life in Queensland and now considers himself a Sunshine Coast local, having spent a lot of time here whilst growing up in Brisbane, and now living here since 2006. He has been a Greens member in NSW and QLD since 2004, and is currently the Convenor of The Maleny Greens. Stewart teaches adult English-language students, and is enjoying learning from the many cultures who now call the Sunshine Coast 'home'. With a background in teaching and event management, Stewart knows there is much that can be achieved when communities work together, and is excited by the energy that comes through learning and cooperation, debate and dissent, agreement and achievement. He understands and values the importance of education for providing and improving opportunity for our children, and for those who face job or career change, whether by choice or circumstance. Education also provides opportunities for those who want to learn to be able to engage more with their world. Stewart's skills and experience have provided strong foundational, organisational and management skills, while being very approachable. He has a passion for learning, an eye for detail and the energy to bring these two things together to serve our community.
"I have the skills to listen to the concerns and ideas of the people in our community to work towards solutions, and resolve challenges that we face personally or as a community. I have the drive, commitment and enthusiam to represent our community here in Glass House."
"We need innovative ideas to draw in people to help boost tourism, and small business. The arts community here in Glass House aid that economic boost, and can provide an economic benfit flow-on effect to other businesses in our area."

Policies
With a career in theatre, major corporate and public events, and local-community celebrations and festivals, Stewart understands the power of engaging people with new ideas and inviting them to play a part in positively transforming their lives. The Greens actively invite everyone to participate in the way our society works, and Stewart will work to guarantee opportunities for people to have a voice in the decision making processes that shape our lives here in Queensland. We need to have a government that is not dictated to by multinational corporations which are primarily concerned with short-term profits, very often at the expense of the health of people and the environment. We need a government that listens to the wisdom of real-life experience and goals. He believes in building a sustainable, renewable energy industry here in Queensland, where we have the skills, the knowledge and opportunity to lead Australia in this vital industry of the future. Together, the people of Queensland have an opportunity to achieve a future where a healthy natural environment coexists with vigorous communities and a built-environment that is sustainable and fulfilling for all people.
