Candidate for Mt Coot-tha

About

Adam has a long-standing interest in good public policy.  He has worked in policy roles within the State and Commonwealth public services and as an advisor in the Federal Parliament. He has also studied and published in the field of International law, worked abroad with Doctors Without Borders and studied and practised dispute resolution.

Adam is deeply interested in the what is needed to foster a prosperous, equitable, sustainable society. ‘I want to live in a society where everyone can participate equally, we all enjoy the benefits of a first rate health and education system, we can move easily around our cities with affordable public transport and we harness our ingenuity and optimism to move our economy onto a diverse and sustainable footing.’

‘We are smart, wealthy and innovative.  These goals are well within our abilities.  We just need Parliamentarians with the will to make changes and the capacity to envision our state as something more than a quarry.’

Adam cites a range of policy areas where he considers that the Greens can steer the state onto a more progressive course.  ‘Greater investment in public and active transport rather than tollways, tunnels and roads; more attention to primary and preventative health care to keep people well and out of hospital; grasping the enormous and sadly under-utilised economic potential of renewable energy technologies given the rich resources we possess; recognising the value of our farmland, tourism sector and unique natural environments that presently come a distant second to mining interests; and the list goes on.’

‘Mt Coot-tha has the strongest Greens vote in the State and a real opportunity to put the first Greens representative into Queensland’s Parliament to pursue these priorities.’
