Policies
Allan is particularly concerned that the coal and coal seam gas boom in Queensland has the very real potential to continue to impact food and water security and to deprive the state of participating in the global shift to a safe, clean energy future. He is committed to making the legislative changes to ensure that Queensland’s limited farming land and areas of environmental significance like the Bimblebox Nature Refuge and coastal ecosystems are protected from exploration and mining.
Locally, the Caloundra South UDA poses significant threats to sensitive coastal ecosystems, and puts enormous population pressure on a region already suffering from a serious lack of adequate transport infrastructure. Allan is in regular contact with the developer, and is committed to ensuring the best possible outcome for the community and the environment. Healthy waterways, protected by environmentally sensitive development are essential for healthy, happy lifestyles.
