Queensland Greens

Previously I have stood for this seat of Everton as a candidate for The Greens. I have lived in the area for 19 years and I would again like to give you, the people in this electorate a choice on polling day, besides the two old parties.

Of great concern to me is the state of the Queensland economy, where unannounced the Bligh Government moved to sell-off of Queensland assets.  Unfortunately the LNP have not come out and stated that they will oppose privatisation, which is why I offer an alternative voice for Everton, and with my fellow candidates an alternative government.

If you are at all concerned about environmental issues, then The Greens are really the only alternative. The Gladstone harbour dredging, sick fish, fishing bans, and Coal Seam Gas mining are only some examples of the total disregard that the current Government has for our environmental protection laws, for our food security, for productive farmland, for clean water and a sustainable Great Artesian Basin along with the marine environment.

I believe in the Greens principles of peace and non-violence, social justice, economic equity and ecological sustainability.  Now, more than ever is the time for you to ensure your local Green candidate is elected so we provide good quality services, open and honest government, and safe and caring communities.

I believe The Greens are more than just a party that is concerned about our natural environment, we are about ensuring  that we bring some honesty, accountability and integrity to the State  Government, because we sure need it!  There is no much distinction between the old parties, approach the challenges of our communities, our economy, and environment in much the same way.  This time vote 1 Bruce Hallett in Everton, then you decide where you want your second preference vote to go.
