Policies
As a Psychotherapist and a Lecturer/Educator with a background in Health, Gabrielle is concerned about our overburdened physical and mental health services and the increasing load on our nursing staff and social workers, surgery waiting lists, inadequate provision for people with disability, the aged, the drug-dependent and the homeless. She is passionate in her support for prevention in health care and for addressing social factors contributing to alienation and disease.
As a community member Gabrielle has been frustrated to watch the approval of new hospitals in a flood zone with limited access or public transport. She is committed to working for better infrastructure planning and for practical transport systems, so essential to our ability to engage locally and access the services, community groups and commercial activities we need.
Over the years Gabrielle has witnessed changes that threaten our quality of life, our environment and the tourism that has underpinned Sunshine Coast prosperity. She believes that this sustainability will only be achieved within a sound environment and she works to maintain this sustainability.
