About
George was born in Cairns in 1964. His mother’s dreaming is Djabugay from Kuranda, and his father’s dreaming is Kuku Mulurudji from Mount Carbine country. He has five children.
He has been involved in community development projects, for example at Mona Mona, as well as networking numerous groups with the aim of bridging the Bama and mainstream communities. He has been involved in Permaculture-Cairns, TransitionTowns-Cairns, and Recharge Kuranda projects, activities and workshops, and working for the Cairns and Far North Environment Centre (CAFNEC).
George has studied Visual Arts at Deakin University, Geelong, Cultural and Natural Resource Management also at Deakin University, Social Welfare at Preston TAFE College, Melbourne (where he lived for 7 years), Biblical Studies at Mamarapha Bible College, Perth, and has a Certificate in Youth Mentoring (Ingham).
George is also an artist and has sold numerous paintings in Kuranda and Cairns.
