About
Jenny is a local who has lived in Sinnamon Park since 2003 and values our place. “We live in a beautiful part of Queensland, and I am proud to be living here, and will work hard to represent our community’s needs in Parliament” said Ms Mulkearns.
Jenny has worked in Queensland Health for 20 years across Queensland and values her role within the department. She has worked in administration in Bundaberg and out west in Longreach to now in Brisbane working in mental health.
As a community member I believe government services and decision affect everyone, whether it be from the earliest stages of our lives, from maternity care to baby health care clinics, to kindergartens, schools, tafes, university and beyond. We need quality infrastructure that supports our community and commercial activities. Inadequate and poor public transport infrastructure in the western corridor means that the residents of these suburbs are reliant upon cars to travel anywhere. Improvements need to be made.
Jenny understands that the western suburbs are still recovering from the terrible events of 2011 and is supportive of all efforts to get the electorate back on its feet.
Jenny is passionate about the environment and does not like the current direction being taken by the major parties in environmental policy. “The mining boom and the associated damage that is being caused to the environment and small communities are risking Queensland’s agricultural lands. We need to look at sustainable options to ensure a future for our children and grandchildren.”
“We need to look beyond mining as the major investor in Queensland, it is well known that this is not our major employer and that more effort needs to be placed on the development of tourism and bio tourism.”
She spends much of her spare time with volunteer work internationally and supports a number of charity organisations including Habitat for Humanity, Homeless World Cup and a small orphanage in Siem Reap, Cambodia. Jenny understands the importance of supporting local work being undertaken and will work passionately for the people of Mount Ommaney.
Together with your help, Jenny will make Mount Ommaney a great area for all of us.
