About
Petrina Maizey majored in English and Philosophy at Macquarie University, and started secondary teaching in Queensland. After nine years as a full-time mother of three, Petrina completed a Masters of Education and now works as a Language Educator for a Brisbane university.
Highly committed to her prime carer role and an active volunteer in local environmental organisations, especially the burgeoning climate movement, Petrina strongly feels that community priorities and wisdom are too often overlooked by today’s political system.
Petrina is aware that Queensland will be unrecognisably transformed within twenty years if the short-sighted decision-making and dangerously outdated attitudes of the major parties continue.
Petrina chose the forward-thinking, grassroots Greens, who for twenty years have warned against the enormous economic and environmental challenges we are now facing. Petrina wants to support Albert through these crucial economic and environmental shifts that have already begun to ensure our electorate takes full advantage of the opportunities ahead while preserving the natural environment that makes Albert a beautiful place to live.
Petrina knows it’s still only the Greens who have the positive solutions to deliver the real and enduring change that Queenslanders want and need for a new future.
